Thời thơ ấu sửa
Baccarin sinh ra tại thành phố Rio de Janeiro, cô là con gái của diễn viên Vera Setta và nhà báo Fernando Baccarin.[3][4] Cô là người gốc Ý,[5] "Morena" trong tiếng Ý có nghĩa là "bóng tối".[6] Khi được 7 tuổi, cả gia đình cô tới định cư ở Greenwich Village, New York vì khi đó cha cô chuyển sang làm biên tập viên cho đài Globo TV, Mỹ.[7]
