'''Crocodylomorpha''' là một nhóm [[archosauria]] gồm [[cá sấu]] và các họ hàng tuyệt chủng của chúng.
 
Vào [[Đại Trung Sinh]] và đầu Đại Tân Sinh, Crocodylomorpha đa dạng hơn ngày nay rất nhiều. Crocodylomorpha kỷ Trias là những động vật nhỏ, nhanhtầm nhẹnvóc nhẹ, hoạt động tích cực và sống trên cạn. Các dạng thời kỳ đầu này sau đó bị thay thế vàotrong kỷ Jura bởi nhiều dạng Crocodylomorpha thủy sinh. Vào cuối kỷ Jura, kỷ Creta, và Đại Tân Sinh xuất hiện nhiều nhánh sống cạn hay bán thủy sinh. Cá sấu "hiện đại" xuất hiện vào cuối kỷ Creta. Các loài Crocodylomorpha lớn nhất là ''[[Crocodylus anthropophagus]]'' (7 mét), ''[[Machimosaurus hugii]]'' (9 mét), ''[[Sarcosuchus|Sarcosuchus imperator]]'' (11 mét), ''[[Deinosuchus|Deinosuchus hatcheri]]'' (12 mét).

Trước đây, tất cả cá sấu còn tồn tại hay đã tuyệt chủng đều được đặt vào bộ Crocodilia. Tuy nhiên, từ cuối thập kỷ 1980, nhiều nhà khoa học bắt đầu thu hẹp bộ Crocodilia (chỉ còn gồm các loài cá sấu hiện đại và họ hàng gần đã tuyệt chủng như ''[[Mekosuchus]]''). Mesosuchia là nhóm [[cận ngành]] vì nó không chứa Eusuchia nhưng nhóm cá sấu thật sự này thì lại lồng sâu bên trong Mesosuchia. Tên gọi [[Mesoeucrocodylia]] được đặt cho nhánh chứa cả Mesosuchia và Eusuchian (Whetstone & Whybrow, 1983).
