Game này có khá nhiều loại xe mới và lạ, thậm chí có cả một chiếc [[F1]] giúp người chơi có một trải nghiệm mới. So với phiên bản 2005, phiên bản 2012 này có cốt truyện khác hơn, thành phố cũng hiện đại hơn. Thành phố này cực kỳ hiện đại nhưng có một thế giới ngầm chuyên đua xe gây phá rối. Người chơi cũng là một trong số đó. Các AI lái xe cảnh sát cũng nhanh nhạy và thông minh hơn nên việc trốn thoát cũng khó hơn, khiến cho game hấp dẫn hơn rất nhiều.
