[[Guinea Xích Đạo]] nộp đơn để gia nhập cộng đồng CPLP tháng 6 năm 2010 và sử dụng tiếng Bồ Đào Nha làm ngôn ngữ chính thức thứ 3 (bên cạnh tiếng Tây Ban Nha và tiếng Pháp) vì đây là một trong những điều kiện để gia nhập cộng đồng này.
