Lucasfilm adapted the story for a children's [[book-and-record set]]. Released in 1983, the 24-page ''Star Wars: Return of the Jedi'' read-along book was accompanied by a 33⅓ rpm {{convert|7|in|cm|adj=on}} [[gramophone record]]. Each page of the book contained a cropped [[Film frame|frame]] from the film with an abridged and condensed version of the story.
