==Cách chơi==
Tựa game tập trung nhiều vào lối đánh mạnh, nhanh nhiều kiểu cách khác nhau. Trong các tựa game sau này, nó đã có nhiều cải tiến hơn qua thang điểm style, chấm điểm phong cách từ hay nhất tới tệ nhất: D, C, B, A, S. Mỗi chữ cái đều là viết tắt cho lời nhận xét khác nhau. Phần 3 của tựa game có đánh giá hạng mục "SS" và "SSS", phần 4 cũng giữ nguyên cách xếp hạng này.
''Devil Trigger'' có khả năng biến Dante thành ác quỷ thật sự, nhưng điều này làm cho việc hồi phục máu và năng lượng sẽ bị chậm đi. Ngoài ra tựa game còn có khá nhiều loại vũ khí khác nhau như cặp súng Ebony và Ivory của Dante, thanh gươm Rebellion ở phần 1.
Dante là nhân vật trung tâm của game, mặc dù phần 2 [[Trish]] cũng là nhân vật có thể chơi được, và trong phần này [[Lucia]] cũng là nhân vật thứ hai có thể lựa chọn sau Dante. Còn ở phần 4, [[Nero]] lại là nhân vật chính.
