Ethel Merman

Ethel Merman (16 tháng 1 năm 1908 - 15 tháng 2 năm 1984) là một nữ diễn viên và ca sĩ người Mỹ.[1] Được biết đến chủ yếu vì giọng hát và vai diễn nhạc kịch,  bà được mệnh danh là "Đệ nhất phu nhân không thể tranh cãi của sân khấu nhạc kịch hài."[2]

Merman có mặt trong các vở nhạc kịch kinh điển của Broadway như "I Got Rhythm" (from Girl Crazy); "Everything's Coming Up Roses", "Some People", và "Rose's Turn" (from Gypsy—Merman đóng vai Rosetrong bản gốc 1959 do Broadway sản xuất); và trong các bài hát của Cole Porter "It's De-Lovely" (from Red, Hot and Blue), "Friendship" (from DuBarry Was a Lady), và "I Get a Kick Out of You", "You're the Top", và "Anything Goes" (from Anything Goes). Bài hát của Irving Berlin - "There's No Business Like Show Business", được viết riêng cho vở nhạc kịch Annie Get Your Gun, trở thành bài hát thương hiệu của Merman.
