Vào cuối thế kỷ 19, Frank Wedekind đã viết ra một bi kịch với tựa là ''Die Büchse der Pandora''. 1928/29 Georg Wilhelm Pabst lấy bi kịch này làm phim câm. 1991 ban nhạc trẻ Anh Quốc OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark) cho phát hành bản nhạc ''Pandora's Box''.
