Thời điểm bổ nhiệm và ra đi của huấn luyện viên có thể rơi bên ngoài [[Danh sách các câu lạc bộ Giải bóng đá ngoại hạng Anh|giai đoạn ở Premier League]] của câu lạc bộ. như [[Ron Atkinson]] được chỉ định làm huấn luyện viên Aston Villa vào năm 1991 (trước khi Premier League được thành lập năm 1992) và đã giữ vị trí của mình cho đến năm 1994.
