'''Herāt''' (/hɛˈrɑːt/; Pashto / tiếng Ba Tư: هرات‎) là thành phố tỉnh lỵ tỉnh Herat ở Afghanistan. Đây là thành phố lớn thứ 3 Afghanistan, với dân số năm 2006 là 397.456 người. Thành phố tọa lạc trong thung lũng sông Hari, con sông chảy từ các núi của trung bộ Afghanistan đến sa mạc Karakum ở Turkmenistan. Thành phố được kết nối đường bộ với [[Kandahar]] và [[Mazar-e-Sharif]] qua quốc lộ 1 hay đường vành đai trải dọc theo đất nước. Thành phố này cũng được kết nối với thành phố [[Mashad]] ở Iran thông qua thị trấn biên giới Islam Qala.
