Dear contributors, my apologies for writing in English. I see that this article has a picture of an Amsterdam canal, as an illustration of the Amsterdam canals as listed as a UNESCO World Heritage. But this canal is not part of it. The UNESCO-listed canals date from the 17th century, and form a semi-circle around the Amsterdam central station. The Lamonggracht is much younger. This canal dates from around 1990, as part of the reconstruction as a residential area of artificial islands used for warehouses and shipping piers. While I am of course very pleased to see one of my photos used in this article, I feel I am obliged to suggest that you use a photo of a more suitable canal. For instance the Keizersgracht, Prinsengracht, Herengracht, Brouwersgracht and Singel.
