Chelodina , gọi chung là Rùa cổ dài , là một chi lớn và đa dạng với một lịch sữ phân loại phức tạp. Mặc dù trong quá khứ Macrochelodina và Macrodiremys đã được xem xét là chi riêng biệt, bây giờ chúng được coi là phân chi của Chelodina .
