Becky Lynch was the inaugural champion, who defeated Alexa Bliss, Carmella, Naomi, Natalya, and Nikki Bella in a six-pack elimination challenge on September 11, 2016 at Backlash in Richmond, Virginia. Lynch has the longest reign at 84 days (though WWE says 85 days), while Naomi has the shortest at 9 days. Alexa Bliss has the most reigns with two. Lynch is also the oldest champion, having won the title 224 days after turning 29, while Bliss is the youngest at 25.
The current champion is Alexa Bliss, who is in her second reign. She defeated Becky Lynch to win the vacant title on SmackDown Live on February 21, 2017, in Ontario, California, after previous champion Naomi had to vacate due to a knee injury that she incurred during her match against Bliss at Elimination Chamber. Alexa Bliss made history by becoming the first woman to win the championship twice.
