Vòng bảng AFC Champions League 2020 bắt đầu vào ngày 10 tháng 2 năm 2020 và kết thúc vào ngày 4 tháng 12 năm 2020.[1] Tổng cộng có 32 đội cạnh tranh ở vòng bảng để xác định 16 suất lọt vào vòng đấu loại trực tiếp của AFC Champions League 2020.[2]
Giải đấu đã bị tạm hoãn do đại dịch COVID-19 tại châu Á sau lượt trận thứ 3 vào ngày 4 tháng 3 năm 2020.[3] Vào ngày 9 tháng 7 năm 2020, AFC thông báo rằng giải đấu sẽ được diễn ra trở lại từ ngày 14 tháng 9 năm 2020.[4] Tất cả các trận đấu sau khi diễn ra trở lại đều tổ chức ở Qatar.
Bốc thăm sửa
Lễ bốc thăm vòng bảng được tổ chức vào ngày 10 tháng 12 năm 2019, lúc 16:30 MYT (UTC+8), tại tòa nhà AFC ở Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.[5] 32 đội được bốc thăm chia thành 8 bảng 4 đội: 4 bảng ở Khu vực phía Tây (Bảng A–D) và Khu vực phía Đông (Bảng E–H). Các đội từ cùng một hiệp hội không được xếp vào cùng một bảng.
Nguyên tắc bốc thăm như sau:[6]
- Đối với Khu vực phía Tây, không có bốc thăm thứ tự cho hai hiệp hội có ba đội tham dự trực tiếp vì lý do an ninh. Một cuộc bốc thăm được tổ chức cho mỗi hiệp hội trong số bốn hiệp hội có nhiều hơn một đội tham dự trực tiếp (Các Tiểu vương quốc Ả Rập Thống nhất, Ả Rập Xê Út, Qatar, Iran) để xác định các vị trí trong bảng của mỗi đội:
- Ba đội tham dự trực tiếp của Các Tiểu vương quốc Ả Rập Thống nhất được xếp vào các vị trí A1, B2 hoặc C3, trong khi đội thắng trận play-off Tây 1 (đội của Các Tiểu vương quốc Ả Rập Thống nhất đá play-off có thể lọt vào) được phân bổ vào vị trí D4.
- Ba đội tham dự trực tiếp của Ả Rập Xê Út được xếp vào các vị trí B1, C2 hoặc D3, trong khi đội thắng trận play-off Tây 2 (đội của Ả Rập Xê Út đá play-off có thể lọt vào) được phân bổ vào vị trí A4.
- Hai đội tham dự trực tiếp của Qatar được xếp vào các vị trí C1 hoặc D2, trong khi đội thắng trận play-off Tây 3 và 4 (đội của Qatar đá play-off có thể lọt vào) được xếp vào các vị trí A3 hoặc B4.
- Hai đội tham dự trực tiếp của Iran được xếp vào các vị trí D1 hoặc C4.
- Các đội tham dự trực tiếp của Uzbekistan và Iraq lần lượt được phân bổ vào các vị trí B3 và A2.
- Đối với Khu vực phía Đông, một cuộc bốc thăm được tổ chức cho hai hiệp hội có ba đội tham dự trực tiếp (Hàn Quốc, Trung Quốc) để xác định thứ tự của các hiệp hội. Sau khi bốc thăm thứ tự các hiệp hội, một cuộc bốc thăm được tổ chức cho mỗi hiệp hội trong số bốn hiệp hội có nhiều hơn một đội tham dự trực tiếp (Hàn Quốc, Trung Quốc, Nhật Bản, Úc) để xác định các vị trí trong bảng của mỗi đội:
- The three direct entrants of the first association drawn (South Korea or China) were drawn to positions E1, F2, or G3, while the play-off winners East 1 or 2 (which their play-off team may advance from) were allocated to position H4.
- The three direct entrants of the second association drawn (South Korea or China) were drawn to positions F1, G2, or H3, while the play-off winners East 1 or 2 (which their play-off team may advance from) were allocated to position E4.
- The two direct entrants of Japan were drawn to positions G1 or H2, while the play-off winners East 3 and 4 (which their play-off teams may advance from) were either allocated to F4 and E3 respectively (if South Korea were the first association drawn), or drawn to positions E3 or F4 (if China were the first association drawn).
- The two direct entrants of Australia were either drawn to positions H1 or F3 (if South Korea were the first association drawn, or if China were the first association drawn and the play-off winners East 4 were drawn to position E3), or positions H1 or E2 (if China were the first association drawn and the play-off winners East 3 were drawn to position E3).
- The direct entrants of Thailand and Malaysia were allocated to either positions G4 and E2 (if South Korea were the first association drawn), positions F3 and G4 (if China were the first association drawn and the play-off winners East 4 were drawn to position E3), or positions E2 and G4 (if China were the first association drawn and the play-off winners East 3 were drawn to position E3) respectively.
The following 32 teams enter into the group stage draw, which include the 24 direct entrants and the eight winners of the play-off round of the qualifying play-offs, whose identity was not known at the time of the draw.

In the group stage, each group is played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. The winners and runners-up of each group advance to the round of 16 of the knockout stage.
Tiebreakers sửa
The teams are ranked according to points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss). If tied on points, tiebreakers are applied in the following order (Regulations Article 10.5):[2]
- Points in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
- Goal difference in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
- Goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
- Away goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
- If more than two teams are tied, and after applying all head-to-head criteria above, a subset of teams are still tied, all head-to-head criteria above are reapplied exclusively to this subset of teams;
- Goal difference in all group matches;
- Goals scored in all group matches;
- Penalty shoot-out if only two teams playing each other in the last round of the group are tied;
- Disciplinary points (yellow card = 1 point, red card as a result of two yellow cards = 3 points, direct red card = 3 points, yellow card followed by direct red card = 4 points);
- Association ranking.
Schedule sửa
The schedule of each match day is as follows.[1][7]
- Matches in the West Region are played on Mondays and Tuesdays. Two groups are played on each day, with the following groups being played on Mondays:
- Matchdays 1 and 2: Groups A and B
- Matchday 3: Groups A and C
- Matchday 4: Groups B and D
- Matchdays 5 and 6: Groups C and D
- Matches in the East Region are played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Two groups are played on each day, with the following groups being played on Tuesdays:
- Matchdays 1 and 2: Groups E and F
- Matchday 3: Groups E and G
- Matchday 4: Groups F and H
- Matchdays 5 and 6: Groups G and H
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only 27 group stage matches had been played before the AFC announced on ngày 14 tháng 4 năm 2020 that all matches and competitions scheduled to take place in May and June would be postponed until further notice.[3]
